"I have spent my professional years working happily within the context of my talents and passions: art, education, and the environment. The EcoVenture is a great opportunity to engage all three skill sets, and to work side-by-side with my father, George Patterson."

"The Shenandoah EcoVenture integrates several of my key interests and passions. This program unites my love of nature and outdoor recreation, an enduring passion, rooted in faith, to care for the earth and its creatures, and an outstanding opportunity for innovative teaching and learning."

"This journey is a way to connect with the natural beauty and history of the Shenandoah Valley, America's first frontier. By capturing and recording its images and sounds, we hope to inspire others to advocate for its protection and preservation. This is truly a place worth saving on our big blue marble."

I am studying Mass Communications at Shenandoah University. I would one day like to work behind the scenes or become a producer in either Television or Cinema. My love of nature as well as the amazing opportunity to work with a professional filmmaker, drew me to the EcoVenture. I hope to gain a tremendous life experience and learn as much as I can, while having a blast in the wilderness.
Carl Chapman
Hello, my name is Carl Chapman. I'm a Sophomore Religion Major at Shenandoah University. After college, I plan to go to seminary through the United Methodist Church so that one day I'll be able to become a minister. Being immersed into the wilderness of the Shenandoah Valley is what has really drawn me into this EcoVenture program. Through it I hope to learn all about the area we live in and to be able to experience its beauty.
John Stevens
I am an environmental studies major at Shenandoah university I'm hoping that my studies will take me to a job that will improve how we take care of our environment. I have been involved in outdoor activities all of my life, the eco venture seemed to combine my courses of studies and my hobbies into one experience that I will appreciate and learn from. I hope to gain leadership skills and knowledge about how we can reverse our impact on the environment.
